Thedore Roosevelt National Park is located in western North Dakota. The park is divided in to north and south unites. The Northern region is near Watford City and the Southern Unit is located near Medora. The park is centered in the colorful North Dakota badlands and is home to a diversity of plants and animals, including bison, prairie dogs and elk.
Summers in the park are warm with temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s, with days where temperatures crosses 100. Evenings tend to be a little cooler. Winters are considerably cold. Visitors are recommended to carry layers of clothing, especially in spring and fall. Rain is recommended in spring and hats need to be carried in the summer for protection.
