Formerly known as General Grant National Park, Kings Canyon National Park is located in the southern Sierra Nevada. The park preserves a dramatic landscape consisting of serene mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns and the world’s largest trees.
The park is made up of two separate areas, Grant Grove and Cedar Grove. Grant Grove is home to what is known as “the Nation’s Christmas Tree”, named General Grant tree. Kings Canyon is also home to Redwood Canyon, the largest remaining grove of sequoia trees in the world.
